Everything You Need to Know About Motorhome Servicing

What do you know about motorhome servicing here at Abacus Motorhomes?

As the one-stop-shop for all things motorhomes, today we’re going to be covering our extensive motorhome servicing options in more detail. We are a National Caravan Council (NCC) certified and Independently Assessed Approved Workshop, so we provide a thorough and reliable maintenance, repair, supply and fitting service.

We’ve recently expanded our service offerings with new Garage Services available - but we’re also going to be covering all you need to know about habitational servicing as well. Both are equally important when it comes to running your motorhome.

Our promise to you is to keep you moving on your motorhome adventures, so let’s get into it!

Mechanical service

Here at Abacus Motorhomes, we have the facilities and a team of qualified engineers to offer full mechanical services, as well as oil changes and MOTs.

If you’re in need of body repairs, our sister company, Horton Commercials, can undertake the repairs of the largest accidents to a scratch on a panel. Across our extensive workshops, we can facilitate any servicing you need.

Air conditioning

We also have the latest machine for re-gassing the air conditioning system in your vehicle!

Did you know?

Air conditioning doesn’t just provide in-car comfort during the hot summer months; it can also be used in winter to demist your windscreen. Air con systems create dry warm air rather than the normal humid air from outside which can clear your windscreen much more quickly than your regular blowers.

Habitational service

Whereas the mechanical service ensures your motorhome is running and operating as it should, the habitational service covers all the ‘homely’ parts that are working as they should. Our annual habitational service takes around 3 hours to complete, covering:

  • The gas, water and electrical systems tested using specialist equipment
  • Gas certification
  • Damp test
  • Fire safety and security checks
  • All locks inspected, tested and lubricated
  • Blinds, windows, roof lights opened, checked and adjusted where necessary
  • Under body and chassis mountings checked

Approved workshops

As stated earlier, Abacus Motorhomes are a National Caravan Council (NCC) certified and Independently Assessed Approved Workshop. However, we are also approved agents for Adria, Bailey and Swift. This means we are authorised to carry out all of your warranty, service and repairs, including:

  • Warranty claims or queries
  • Dometic, thetford and truma products warranty, service and repairs
  • Servicing and habitation checks
  • Retrofit products and accessories

Our promise to you

We will keep you moving on your motorhome adventures!

Our service starts with arranging a specific appointment time to discuss your requirements. During this time we will carry out a visual inspection of your unit, in which you are welcome to accompany us whilst this takes place. Then we will prepare a quotation of work for you.

Should your vehicle require any additional work or take longer than initially planned, we will let you know with plenty of time in advance. A quality check of works undertaken will be carried out prior to returning your vehicle.

We will clearly explain all work undertaken on your vehicle, providing you with a breakdown of the final invoice. We make a simple commitment to all motorhome owners, whether you bought from us or not, that we will maintain your unit to the highest standard - using the best possible people, equipment and parts!

If you have any questions or would like to book in for any of our motorhome services, do not hesitate to get in touch!
