Top Tips for Festival Motorhome Camping

With summer fast approaching, the festival season will soon be upon us!

Now, whilst camping at a festival may be part of the fun, more and more people are starting to enjoy festivals in their very own hired motorhome.

After all, nothing compares to being able to attend in style and luxury, knowing that after a long day partying and enjoying the music, you can relax in the dry and sleep on a comfortable bed, rather than just a thin sheet in between you and the floor…

In anticipation of the festival season, today we’re going to be sharing with you some of our top tips for festival motorhome camping!

#1 Book early

We can’t stress the importance of this enough. Festivals are very popular, and so is the increasing demand for motorhomes over this period! At Abacus Motorhomes, whilst we will try to do our best to accommodate, we do have a limited number of hire stock, and so we highly recommend booking in as soon as possible.

Our motorhomes have gone to many festivals, so we know how quickly it books up. Glastonbury, Boomtown, Goodwood, Download - we’ve seen them attend quite a few! With different events sometimes overlapping, it increases the demand even more. Book now and you’ll thank us later!

Now that the admin is out of the way, let’s get into more of the fun tips…

#2 Stock up and pack well

One of the great things about having a motorhome at a festival is the increased amount of space and storage you have, compared to simply taking a backpack and living out of a tent! But on a standard motorhome trip, if you forget something you could find a shop relatively easily to replace said item… At a festival, that certain luxury isn’t as readily available!

Don’t forget that the added luxury of not having to wait around in toilet and shower queues means you also need to remember to bring enough toiletry supplies too, as well as other things! At Abacus Motorhomes, our list of included extras features items such as dishes, cutlery, toilet necessities, saucepans and more - up to #250 worth of essential extras to be exact!

We recommend writing a list of all the things you need to bring with you, accounting for the included extras, and everything else you may require on your trip. If you need help with packing, make sure to check out our previous post on what to bring!

#3 Arrive early and prepare

You don’t want to miss out on any of the fun by arriving late and taking time to set up. It’s always best to arrive earlier if you can, so you can take the time to set up and feel relaxed before heading out to explore. No one likes arriving late and having to navigate in the dark.

Also, be aware that you will undoubtedly face traffic and queues upon entry. Be prepared to wait!

There’s no doubt that the festival experience can be made even better by experiencing it in a motorhome! Who wouldn’t want the added comfort and ease to make the trip even better?

Make sure to browse our hire stock, and book your motorhome today! We wouldn’t want you missing out…
