The colder weather can be challenging to drive in a car, let alone a motorhome. Whilst we don’t usually experience drastic winter weather, there are a few tips that can help you manage driving in the lower temperatures: 

1. Take your time and match your speed to the weather and road conditions 
2. Replace regular tyres with winter tyres that are better suited to the conditions 
3. Regularly check brake fluid, oil levels and wiper fluid

Winter packing checklist 

Heading out on a winter motorhome adventure? You’ll want to make sure to keep warm! We’ve highlighted some of the necessities below: 

• Blankets! Although our motorhomes do have heating, you’ll want these to make it extra warm and cosy 
• Hat, scarf, gloves… Don’t underestimate how cold the UK can get 
• Thermals (see above!)

Winter motorhome storage 

Ultimately, if a winter motorhome adventure isn’t one for you, you’ll need to make sure your vehicle is stored properly until use again in the summer! 

First things first, always consult your motorhome handbook for any vehicle-specific care information. Prepare for storage by draining the water systems to ensure it doesn’t freeze or cause damage. Additionally, you may want to invest in a cover to help protect the overall bodywork. Lastly, consider any security features whilst the vehicle is out of use for an extended period of time.
